Delivered Meals

How Delivered Meals Work

At the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center, we understand that getting out isn’t always easy—but that doesn’t mean you should miss out on a healthy, home-style meal. Our Delivered Meals program brings fresh, nutritious food right to your door.  Designed for seniors who are homebound or have limited mobility, this service ensures you’re supported with care, convenience, and consistency. Each delivery brings not just a meal, but a reminder that you’re valued and never alone.

Times:  Starts at 10:30am for qualifying individuals

Cost: 60+ suggested $4 donation and under 60 $9

  • What Qualifies Me for Home Delivered Meals- Home delivery is reserved for those who are unable to come into the center for lunch. Qualifying factors can either be physical limitations or emotional limitations.

  1. Temporary home delivery is available for up to 2 weeks if the participant is temporarily ill or is unable to get to the senior center on a particular day.  This will continue to be recorded as a C1, or congregate meal.  Upon return to the center, each participant that received temporarily delivered congregate meals shall sign next to each meal received as verification of receipt or may be asked to sign the deliver from upon delivery.
  2. If a participant needs meal delivery for more than 2 weeks they will be referred to the home delivery program.  This program is referred to as the C2 program.  A C2 AGNES, Aging Needs Evaluation Summary, will need to be submitted to the senior center in this situation.  Eligibility will be determined based on the outcome of the assessment.
  3. In either scenario if resources are available to serve all eligible participants, spouses can receive meals under the circumstances listed below. If resources are not available to serve all eligible individuals requesting the service, preference shall be given to those of greatest social or economic need as defined by the Older Americans Act.

C1 Temporary Home Delivery- Persons 60 years of age or older and their self-declared spouses of any age if it is in the best interest of the participant.

C2 Home Delivery- A spouse of an eligible participant can be eligible to receive a meal if it is in the best interest of the participant.

C1 Temporary and Hot Home Delivery participants must be present for the delivery.  The meal cannot be left unattended and if you are not home to receive it the meal will be returned to the center.  Participants can call between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. daily to make changes to their meal delivery schedule.

Educational Training

At the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center, we believe it’s never too late to learn something new. Our Educational Training programs are designed to keep minds sharp and curiosity thriving, no matter your age or experience. From technology tutorials and health education to financial literacy and safety workshops, there’s always something valuable to discover. We offer a supportive space where learning is encouraged and confidence is built—one class, one skill at a time.

Community Closet

We would like to thank the volunteers who have worked hard to organize our community closet. We have discarded equipment that needed repair and still have an abundance of shower chairs and toilet seat risers. Some still have the sales tags on them. We will need to dispose of them before winter to make room for our mini-van in the garage. We are wanting to find good homes for the items where they can benefit someone. If you or someone you know could use these items or you know of an entity in our community that could please reach out to the KSC.

The Community Closet at the Kemmerer Senior Citizens Center is here to provide seniors with access to gently used medical equipment and mobility aids—at no cost. Whether you need a wheelchair, walker, cane, shower chair, or other basic items, we’re here to help make daily life a little easier and more comfortable. This service is available to seniors in our community on a short-term or long-term basis, depending on availability. All equipment is donated and cleaned before being shared. Need something? Stop by the Center or give us a call to check current inventory and learn more about how to borrow or donate.

The only requirement is to fill out a form and return the item when you're done using it.
